From the family album: Four miller brothers

Arvid, Aldor, Gustaf and Hjalmar took over the milling trade when their father Johan – a man marked by hard work and years of heavy drinking – passed away at the age of just 42.

The brothers carried on the milling trade on the Småland mainland, bringing with them both a passion for the craft and a commitment to the temperance-promoting Blue Ribbon Movement.
They were the third generation of millers, and Arvid became a master miller at the Nordic Millers’ School in Mariestad. Later, he ran Kullö Mill in Tidaholm together with his son Hubert – and in his later years, with his grandson Bengt as well.

This picture always warms our hearts – four young brothers, setting out in life.
